the story behind outsidend

Hi my name is Bruce and I have created outsidend as an extension of my day to day life, what does that mean you may ask? Well not sure, all I see clear is that I intend to carve out this unforked one-way road as best I can, founded on trust and honesty from the ground up (literally! I built my first shop…ask my dad he helped me)

I’ve been chopping and assembling wood since grade school, wood has been a big part of my life since, whether i’m good at it or not is subjective, I don’t claim to know everything about woodworking, however, I can say that woodworking draws incredible interest, to take on a new challenge and learn everyday, nothing is built to perfection, and it is in that same statement that I find comfort, the comfort to bare uncomfortability from small mistakes or imperfections that only i can see.

With that said I would like to thank all my supporters, family, friends, strangers that became friends and the great folks from Winnipeg, the city that has helped me build and continue to thrive.

Here is a picture of 14 year old me on top of the first house I built with the help of my friend ‘Mika’

It was so innovative that we had to put the entry door on the roof, as it kept criminals and thieves wondering how to break in, notice how the windows are up high?

unfortunately it burned down in the ravage fire of 2004
